The Giveth Community of Makers

The Future of Giving is Now! We have softly launched our second dApp from the Giveth community of makers, this free, open-source, and decentralized application for peer-to-peer donations you are using right now. 💜 Donations such as yours are our primary source of funding and are deeply appreciated! In the current evolution of Giveth we're building upon firsthand experience gained through developing, maintaining and improving our original flagship dApp (live at beta.giveth.io). For 3+ years, all funding for Giveth has been tracked transparently, securely and accountably here using the full-featured version with DAC’s, Campaigns and Milestones. This new dApp is starting out with a simple purpose: 💜 For Givers: Offer the best experience for anyone looking to donate to a cause, whether with crypto or a credit card. 💜 For Makers: Enable project creators anywhere in the world to start accepting donations in a few minutes, with zero fees and zero censorship. We know that the future is what we make it, and at Giveth everyone is a Giver AND a Maker.. Your questions, suggestions and preferences are needed to guide the team in deciding what features and functionality to build next. Ways to contribute: Donate today and feed the team! Click the “Feedback” button to submit your ideas! Connect with us at join.giveth.io so we can welcome you personally to the Future of Giving!

Bridging Digital Communities

I run a bridge server for chats (Discord, Telegram, Riot, ...) and am actively engaging communities connected to the Ethereum space. Especially with the advent of newDAOs my services are being requested on a regular basis. Most requested at the moment is bridging between community servers on Discord (both communities get to share a room), whereas before it was mostly mirroring rooms between different protocols. Once a bridge is up, it still needs to be maintained and I regularly check that everything is in working order. I never charge for these services, but I do accept donations (all Ethereum tokens) Current list of bridged communities:

Giveth

The Commons Stack

Metagame

Hackalong

1hive

ethereum.org

balancer.io

Aragon

cadCAD

Token Engineering

Token Engineering Commons

sourcecred

Raid Guild

DappNode

brightID

Metafactory

dOrg

Matic

Consensys

Panvala

Gitcoin

Yearn

DAOHaus

Kshazu

DAO Book Club

Mol Le Art

ETHLatam

Shenanigan

Seeing Earth

Boson Protocol

SUPPORT PROTESTS IN COLOMBIA #SOSCOLOMBIA

The current social and health crisis in Colombia is forcing people to raise their voices. This year, the protests began on April 28th and people have taken the streets with no rest since then to claim to the government. Although the nowadays crisis is not something new, there were several triggers for the social response that we see today, among them: - A tax reform that would have affected low and medium-class people - The more than 900 social leaders murdered since 2016, the year in which was signed a peace agreement with the FARC guerrilla - A health reform, that pretends to privatize the public resources - Since the first days of protests, the police forces repressed the protesters in such a violent way, that there are 37 people murdered by the Colombian police in less than 20 days of strikes - The historical inequality here is such, that it would take 11 generations for a poor family to approach the mean income and the current government policies are not doing anything to change this situation - The ineptitude and disinterest of the government in protecting women from gender violence In this social context, there are a lot of people organizing themselves and joining forces to support the strikes. Among these connections arose a "Spontaneous Gathering" in which some people from Bogotá started to meet to gather ideas to move forward. Here I share some of the things we have accomplished so far: - Organized the logistics to carry out a space of open mic in a public park. In this space, we also received and handled donations of food like fruits, sandwiches, and water to distribute to whoever could need them that day. - Gathered nonperishable food, first aid supplements for kits, and money to donate to people in need. Now, we aim to also gather international funding to keep up with the required work to support the strikes. We will be deeply thankful for your donations; we will update the destination of each dollar here. ¡El pueblo no se rinde, carajo!

The Commons Simulator: Level Up!

The Commons Simulator is a gamified simulation tool powered by a cadCAD backend that was developed by the Commons Stack's Decentralized Dev community. The intention is to blend art and simulation into a dystopian sci-fi storyline. In the game, you travel back in time to use cadCAD as a tool to help a community design a regenerative Commons with the potential to save the world from total planetary and economic destruction.

The Commons Simulator helps to illustrate one of the core missions of the Commons Stack:

Empowering communities to design their own economies using open source simulation tools.

We have already launched our first level! Vukani

Zimbabwe is a country facing severe challenges in the area of food security due both to political and environmental factors as well as widespread poverty. The rural areas are especially vulnerable as they are far from central aid, and the children are as always the most vulnerable of all. Lack of food during our developmental years has effects beyond going to bed hungry. A lack of nutrients does not only negatively impact ones mental capacity and bodily development in the short term, but it can also have quite dire consequences in the longer term. If we are to have a future at all, it is the young who must receive the most of our attention and energy for it is not only they who must take on the task of creating a better tomorrow, they are the ones who will be around to experience it. Vukani, which means "Wake up" is a pilot project that aims to wake people up to the fact that local, sustainable farming is the only reliable path forward in an increasingly unstable world. The goal of the project is to grow food for the local school children, providing them with the nutrients they will need to develop their bodies and minds. If the project works, we will replicate it with a number of rural schools in Zimbabwe, in Africa and across the globe.

The project initiated in 2019 where we dug a borehole but we now need the funds to pump and distribute the water and create a solar-powered irrigation system before the dry season that starts in April, as well as funds to seed, tend and harvest.

Handshake Development Fund

HNS Fund is a community run development fund. It is the only source of non-VC, non-dilutive grants funding in the HNS community. Our goal is to support and empower our fellow open source developers and creators in their mission to create a free and open internet on the dweb. HNS Fund was created out of the need to source funding and coordinate builders within the HNS community because there is no Handshake Foundation, founding team, or any other centralized entity. HNS Fund is dedicated to free and open source software. We give donations to community members that are working to expand the ecosystem, build tooling, create new use cases for personal TLDs, and make onboarding and adoption easier for people new to HNS. All projects must follow the Handshake Community Guidelines to receive HNS Fund grants. We are open to giving grants to anyone working in the Handshake community. We primarily focus on these areas: * Core Handshake protocol development * Domain management tools (e.g. claiming, registries/registrars, DNS records) * Wallets * Browser integrations * Auction tools * Educational content * Identity solutions * Community growth

The Connective - A Post-Capitalist Atlas

A diverse ecosystem emerging on a global scale is experimenting alternative forms of production, relationships and ownership, with radically new and different logic and practices from those of the mainstream: no longer market competition, based on private ownership and solely aimed at individual profit, but sharing, decentralization and cooperationbased on global common goods such as knowledge, data and environment for the collective good. The Connective - A Post-Capitalist Atlas wanna map and connect the agents and ecosystems of this new paradigm in an evolving database, and to represent them through beautiful schemes and maps. The outcome of this work is an always updating Common, a free and accessible map of the developing post-capitalist economy, where individuals and organizations can discover innovations, networks, opportunities and make sense of the emerging ecosystem itself. We are a worker cooperative which dream is to become a blockchain-based decentralized community, providing both sense-making and practical utilities to the agents of the new economy. We'll start from creating schemes, maps and visualization of the post-capitalist experimentations happening in the world, and to promote them on social media, while we develop a community-driven open softwarea +business model to help communities and ecosystem to map and connect their own networks too. Merijaan — for a plastic free world

We believe in a world without new plastic. And we make the best out of the old. We develop & market sustainable surf equipment and create a new awareness for dealing with plastic through education. We act courageously, authentically and socially. Many people want an alternative to the throwaway society. A conscious and sustainable use of resources such as plastic offers an opportunity to act responsibly and do something good for oneself and the environment. This requires education on recycling and more sustainable products. There is a lack of both. People are looking for practical and attractive ways to use resources more consciously and thus protect themselves and the environment. Merijaan addresses both problems: 1. Social: By educating people about up- & recycling, we create a new awareness about how to deal with plastic. We organise plastic recycling workshops and set up circular economies. We are currently digitising all our educational material. The result will be a 4 month transmedia plastic recycling workshop series for children — including audio, visio and hands-on components. 2. Surf: We develop and market sustainable surf equipment made from recycled & recyclable plastic, enabling people to surf in an environmentally and health-friendly way. We use the material that already exists so that no new material is produced.

Kundalini Yoga Fire Donations

The brain is a physical object that generates mental energy. It is a tangle of strands, an unknowable, dense web. It is a mass of emotions, memories, instincts, reactions, and thoughts. Whatever comes into its scope of awareness is channeled through its dark core. Energy sparks through at speeds faster than lightning, but still, there are many areas that lie dormant, unused, nearly petrified with age. With the proper methods, we can enter the center of the brain. Metaphorically speaking, this area is like a cavern with a subterranean river running through it. That river can be kindled with a spiritual spark, and the whole river can be set aflame. This illumination is spiritual energy. It can be used to rejuvenate the brain and to supplement the limitations of our normal mental abilities. Methods that deal with the mind only as a brain will always be limited. Coping with life only through physical faculties will always fall short of the ultimate answers. Only through lighting a living fire within ourselves can we dance quickly and spontaneously enough to meet the rhythm of life.

Conscious Medicine Collective

Conscious Medicine Collective is a dream project from master shaman and mystic Manex Ibar and life partner Victoria Ibar, to create a high-end boutique psychedelic consciousness center. The intention is to create an ultimate set and setting and powerful pre, during, and post protocols that bring creativity, music, art, and high-end healing, medical practitioners, and influencers together into a club, that fosters innovation, problem solving, and creative solutions through the use of plant medicines, psychedelics, and consciousness programs. We seek to raise 3-5Million Euros to create the full project on the already bought 12 acres of land, on a river in the Basque Pyrenees mountains. Our aim is to cultivate a natural plant medicine herbal garden that follows the astrological, alchemical, and natural cycles and process the plants into spygarics (an ancient alchemical way of treating plant matter into precise medicine) which is the most effective and least harmful way to ingest plants, with precise measurement capacities, and effective dosing. With our extended global network of doctors, chemists/pharmacists, healers, artists, musicians, and creatives, as well as leaders, we aim to bring the highest levels of service, bringing magic, nature, and wonder into an experiential club center that provides elevation of consciousness. We hope you join us!
